BOTVIN LIFESKILLS

This program is set in age appropriate groups to discuss issues related to todays times. Using the curriculum given, we will explore ways to help our youth utilize social and coping skills. MAPP has taken Botvin Lifeskills and developed promising practices to relate with the inner city youth and it’s evidence based program. Drug prevention is also included with our program. Every 10-15 kids there will be assigned 2 coaches.

PEACE and PROTECTION PROJECT

MAPP has teamed up with men in the community and other agencies related to mental health to spread information and educate our neighborhood’s on the importance of screening, mental health and building a safe place in our homes. MAPP’s Peace and Protection Project (PPP) has helped break the stigma of mental illness and will continue to help educate the African American and Hispanic community on the available State and Federal resources here in the Toledo. PPP has developed food drives and clothing giveaways in the community. Along with other partners, MAPP’s goal is to ensure that our families will have a good days and nights as well as all around sense of assurance that there is a program that will come and check on them during this rough time in America. MAPP has teamed up with professionals in health care, behavioral services, safety and law enforcement to educate our community and it's youth about violence prevention in the community.
